Description
Mexican Fish Patties
Ingredients
- Cod fillet - 17.6 oz
- Onion - 1 piece
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Cinnamon - a pinch
- Ground clove - a pinch
- White bread - 4 pieces
- Ground Cumin - a pinch
- Mild Chili Spice - 1 piece
- Cilantro - 1 bunch
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Salt - to taste
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a skillet, sauté the chopped onion and garlic until golden brown. Add the cinnamon, cloves, and cumin, stir to combine, and transfer to a bowl.
Step 2
In a food processor, grind the bread, adding one-third to the onion mixture and reserving the rest for breading. Puree the fish in the food processor until smooth.
Step 3
Clean and finely chop the bell pepper and cilantro. Place the fish mince in a bowl with the onion mixture, add the pepper, half of the cilantro, the egg, lemon juice, salt, and mix thoroughly.
Step 4
Add the remaining cilantro to the breading. Shape the minced meat into patties and coat them. Fry the patties over high heat for 4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Then reduce the heat and continue frying, turning the patties occasionally, for 10–15 minutes until fully cooked.
