Montenegrin Casserole
Ingredients
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Olive Oil - 4 tablespoons
- Lean Beef - 8.8 oz
- Potato - 2 pieces
- Young zucchini - 2 pieces
- Salt - to taste
- Egg white - 4 pieces
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Ground Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sauté finely chopped onion in olive oil in a heavy-bottomed pan, add the ground beef and cook for 10 minutes, seasoning with pepper, salt, and cinnamon. Dice the potatoes and add them to the beef. Cook for another 10 minutes, then add the diced zucchini and cook for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 2
When the potatoes and zucchini are almost tender, crack the eggs on top of the casserole and remove from heat after 5 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley. I baked it in the oven for the last 5 minutes.
