Description
Before it became known as the New York Sour, this cocktail was called both the Continental Sour and the Southern Whiskey Sour, and it was actually invented in Chicago in the late 1870s.
Ingredients
- Bourbon - 1 fl oz
- Meyer Lemon Juice - 1 fl oz
- Gingerbread-flavored syrup - 0 fl oz
- Bitter - 0 fl oz
- Red Grape Juice - 1 fl oz
- Citrus Zest Mix - to taste
- Egg white - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pour bourbon and simple syrup into a shaker filled with ice, squeeze in the juice of a lemon, add bitters and egg white. Shake well.
Step 2
Strain into a small glass with three or four ice cubes. Pour in the red wine. Garnish with a strip of lemon zest.
