Description
Recipe from the book 'Cooking Like in Anime: Recipes for True Otaku!' by John Smith.
Ingredients
- Carrot - 2 pieces
- Onion - 2 pieces
- Potato - 8 pieces
- Frozen green bean pods - 3.5 oz
- Shirataki Rice - 10.6 oz
- Pork tenderloin - 21.2 oz
- Soy Sauce - 3 fl oz
- Mirin - 1 fl oz
- Sake - 1 fl oz
- Powdered Sugar - 2 teaspoons
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Dashi powder - 17 fl oz
- Sesame Oil - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the vegetables: peel the carrot and cut it into large, evenly sized pieces.
Step 2
Peel the onion and cut it into four parts.
Step 3
Peel the potato and cut it in half.
Step 4
Rinse the green peas.
Step 5
Pour water into a pot, lightly salt it, and add the shirataki noodles for 3 minutes. Remove them from the water and set aside.
Step 6
Slice the meat into thin pieces. All ingredients are prepared, and you can start cooking.
Step 7
Pour a tablespoon of sesame oil into the bottom of a cast-iron pot and place it over medium heat. Add the meat, season with salt and pepper to taste. Sauté for 2 minutes, then add the onion, carrot, and potato.
Step 8
Sauté for another 2 minutes, then pour in the soy sauce, mirin, sake, and add the powdered sugar. Mix well. Transfer the shirataki noodles as a block onto a cutting board, cut into four parts, and add to the pot. Then pour in the dashi broth.
Step 9
Reduce the heat, cover with a lid, and simmer for 30 minutes.
Step 10
Then add the green peas and cook for another 10 minutes. Everything is ready: you can serve the dish directly in the pot!
