Description

Pasta with Shrimp in Creamy Cheese Sauce

Ingredients

  • Peeled Cooked Shrimp - 14.1 oz
  • 10% cream - 7 fl oz
  • Sliced Processed Cheese - 3.5 oz
  • Garlic - 4 cloves
  • Olive Oil - to taste
  • Dill - 1 bunch
  • Pasta (corkscrew) - 8.8 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Place a pot of water on the stove to boil for the pasta. Once boiling, salt the water and cook the spaghetti according to the instructions, undercooking by about one to two minutes.

Step 2

Meanwhile, chop the garlic into large pieces and add it to a well-heated skillet with vegetable oil. Sauté for just one to two minutes to allow the garlic to infuse the oil with its aroma, then discard the garlic as it has served its purpose.

Step 3

Add the shrimp to the garlic oil and sauté for just 2–3 minutes, then transfer them to a plate. Pour the cream into the skillet with the oil and let it simmer slightly, then add the processed cheese and cook the sauce on low heat for another 5 minutes, until the cheese is completely melted into the cream.

Step 4

Meanwhile, finely chop the dill, adding most of it to the creamy cheese sauce, along with the rested sautéed shrimp. Let the sauce simmer with the shrimp for a couple of minutes, then drain the cooked spaghetti, reserving a small amount of the cooking water (about one cup), and add it to the sauce.

Step 5

After adding the spaghetti to the sauce, mix everything well and add enough pasta water to ensure the mixture is not dry, then simmer the pasta on low heat for a couple of minutes. When serving, sprinkle with the remaining chopped dill.
