Description
A simple yet familiar and traditional recipe for pearl barley porridge. Nothing unnecessary: just water, grains, and butter. You can add more butter than indicated in the recipe; we all remember that you can't spoil porridge with too much butter.

- Pearl barley - 2 glasses
- Salt - 1 tablespoon
- Butter - 3 spoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Add the grains to the boiling water and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 2
After that, drain the grains in a sieve and let the water run off.
Step 3
Pour 3.5 cups of water into a pot, add a spoonful of oil, and season with salt. Once the water comes to a boil, add the prepared grains and cook until thickened for 40 to 60 minutes.
Step 4
After that, remove the pot from the heat, wrap it in a thick towel, and let it rest for 1.5 hours.
Step 5
Add 1–2 tablespoons of butter to the cooked porridge and stir well.
