Ingredients
- Salt - 3 tablespoons
- Extra virgin olive oil - 8 tablespoons
- Tomato Paste - 3.2 oz
- Red pepper flakes - 1 tablespoon
- Canned tomatoes - 3.5 oz
- Penne rigate - 15.9 oz
- Sea Salt - to taste
- Grated Parmesan cheese - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a large pot, bring 600 ml of water to a boil and add 3 tablespoons of salt.
Step 2
Meanwhile, heat 4 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, add the tomato paste and red pepper flakes, reduce the heat, and cook, stirring, for 4 minutes. Mix in the chopped tomatoes and remove from heat.
Step 3
In the boiling water, cook the pasta until al dente, draining most of the water, leaving ¼ cup for later use.
Step 4
Add the pasta and reserved water to the tomato sauce, stir, and cook over medium heat until all ingredients are combined. Add salt to taste, the remaining oil, and stir again.
Step 5
Serve with grated Parmesan cheese.
