Ingredients
- Orange Bell Peppers - 2 lbs
- Water - 1 qt
- Malt Vinegar - 1 fl oz
- Gooseberry - 28.2 oz
- Salt - 1.8 oz
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash the peppers (preferably a mix of colors — red, green, and yellow), cut them in half lengthwise, and remove the seeds.
Step 2
Sort and wash the gooseberries (white or red — to taste). Place the peppers in a pre-sterilized jar and add the gooseberries. Gently shake the jar to evenly distribute the gooseberries among the pepper slices.
Step 3
In a pot, bring the water to a boil, add the salt, vinegar, and sugar. Bring to a boil again and remove from heat. Pour the marinade over the vegetables and berries. Close the jar and set aside to cool. Store in a cool, dark place.
