Description
Rice contains more starch than any other cereal grain. It also has a lot of protein, but significantly less than other grains, and amino acids and vitamins are found only in the outer parts of the grain. Brown rice is only stripped of its inedible outer shell, thus retaining all its beneficial properties. This is not the case with polished white rice. White rice has both the shell and the grain removed, and it is polished as well. Essentially, white rice consists mainly of starch. Rice pairs poorly with many products (except for vegetables and dairy products, including vegetable and butter), but on its own, it is very beneficial. Rice is often used in diets for both weight loss and detoxification. It is important to note that when combined correctly or consumed alone, rice is a healthy food. Health benefits of brown rice: • Rice is beneficial for the lungs and is used to treat bronchitis and bronchial asthma (rice broth mixed with bean and soy broth). • Rice positively affects the large intestine (it helps to stop diarrhea when consuming well-cooked rice, rice broth, or starch; it cleanses the intestines well when boiled with milk; it helps with intestinal ulcers when using red rice broth for enemas), and is useful in adhesive processes in the intestines. • Rice is effective in treating chronic digestive tract diseases (rice broth). • Rice is used as a diaphoretic, detoxifying, and antipyretic agent in the treatment of angina, flu, and pneumonia (rice broth with mint and onion added). • Rice is good for the stomach when cooked with oil. • Rice enhances milk production in nursing mothers. • Rice has a calming effect on the brain and nervous system. • Rice restores the body's natural balance (sympathetic and parasympathetic systems, biochemical balance). • Rice quenches thirst. • Rice is beneficial for kidney and bladder diseases. • Rice is an effective cleansing agent for the intestines, stomach, urogenital system, joints, and other tissues (raw rice). • Rice improves complexion. • Rice eliminates bad breath. • Rice positively affects the skin when applied externally (rice flour removes freckles and cleanses the face and body; a paste made from rice flour cooked in melon juice, when applied locally, removes freckles and other pigmentation spots on the face). • Rice is used in the treatment of bruises, bites, and sprains (compresses made from cooked rice flour with vinegar are applied to affected areas). • Rice restores appetite after a serious illness or prolonged fasting. Contraindications: Rice is harmful in cases of colic (the harmful effect can be mitigated with sugar), and it should not be consumed in cases of obesity and tendency to constipation.
