Description
Pineapple salad, regardless of the ingredients that accompany it, is a notable dish from coast to coast. A post-Soviet classic that vividly demonstrates how limited store selection influenced home recipes. The most popular dish featuring pineapple is the chicken salad. However, today’s recipe is much lighter and more interesting. Pineapple is not the only source of sweetness here; there’s also apple and red bell pepper. All of these flavors blend wonderfully with a slightly spicy hard cheese and mayonnaise, which is best made from scratch.
Ingredients
- Pineapple - 10.6 oz
- Apple - 7.1 oz
- Celery stalk - 2 pieces
- Orange Bell Peppers - 1 piece
- Parsley - 3 sprigs
- Hard Cheese - 5.3 oz
- Mayonnaise - 5.3 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Peel the pineapple, remove the tough core, and cut it into small wedges.
Step 2
Slice the celery into thin rounds.
Step 3
Remove the seeds from the pepper and dice it.
Step 4
Cut the apple into wedges the size of pineapple slices.
Step 5
Chop the parsley leaves coarsely.
Step 6
Grate the cheese using a coarse grater.
Step 7
Combine all the prepared ingredients.
Step 8
Dress the salad with mayonnaise, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
