Amazing as a standalone dessert. Perfect with ice cream. Wonderful with good cheese. And some adventurous souls eat this with meat)). Personally, aside from my plum indulgences, I love 2 teaspoons of plums — in a beautiful little dish in the morning with coffee... Life is good...
Ingredients
- Plums - 2 lbs
- Cinnamon - 2 teaspoons
- Grated Ginger Root - 1 teaspoon
- Ground Black Pepper - a pinch
- Brown Sugar - 4 tablespoons
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Ground Nutmeg - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut round dark blue plums (I think you can use any juicy ones) in half and remove the pit.
Step 2
Line a baking tray with parchment paper and arrange the plum halves, cut side up.
Step 3
Place a tiny piece (1 cm by 0.5 cm) of butter in each plum half.
Step 4
Sprinkle the plums with cinnamon (nutmeg, ginger, and pepper are optional — I added ginger and pepper) along with the brown sugar.
Step 5
Place in a preheated oven for 20 minutes.
Step 6
After 20 minutes, cover with foil and leave in the oven for another 20 minutes. Let cool.
