Description
Instead of fresh tomatoes, you can use 50 g of tomato paste.

- Poultry - 2 lbs
- Green peppercorns - 3.5 oz
- Onion - 10.6 oz
- Red Long Chili Peppers - 0.7 oz
- Tomatoes - 5.3 oz
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sauté the chopped onion in the fat until golden brown, sprinkle with ground pepper and salt, add pieces of cut-up poultry, pour in water or broth, and simmer. There should not be too much liquid in the pot. When the meat is almost done, add slices of washed tomatoes and washed sliced sweet green pepper, and simmer until fully cooked over low heat.
Step 2
Pörkölt is served with dumplings, potatoes, or rice, and a salad of fresh or pickled cucumbers.
