Description
Pollock stewed with mayonnaise
Ingredients
- Navy Pollock - 2 lbs
- Vegetable Oil - 2 fl oz
- Wheat Flour - 2 fl oz
- Salt - 0.2 oz
- Onion - 1 piece
- Mayonnaise - 1 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Rinse the fish, remove any excess parts, cut off the fins (scissors work well for this), and cut into small pieces, about 4–5 cm.
Step 2
Prepare the coating mixture: mix the flour with salt.
Step 3
Heat the oil in a frying pan.
Step 4
Coat the pieces in the flour mixture and place them in the frying pan. Fry one side until golden brown.
Step 5
Meanwhile, prepare the onion. Cut a large onion into pieces of 1–1.5 cm.
Step 6
Flip the fish to the other side and sprinkle the onion evenly over the surface and between the pieces.
Step 7
Prepare the sauce: mix the mayonnaise with 1.5 cups of water and about 10 minutes after adding the onion, pour it over the fish.
Step 8
Stew for about 20 minutes over medium heat until the onion becomes soft. Turn off the heat and let it sit for a bit.
Step 9
In the meantime, prepare a side dish such as mashed potatoes or buckwheat. Although the fish comes with a lot of sauce and can simply be eaten with bread.
