Ingredients

  • Navy Pollock - 14.1 oz
  • Salad Potatoes - 14.1 oz
  • Hard Cheese - 3.5 oz
  • Sour Cream - 4 tablespoons
  • Onion - 1 head
  • Carrot - 1.8 oz
  • Salt - to taste
  • Vegetable Oil - 1 fl oz
  • Bay leaf - 1 piece
  • Mixed Ground Peppers - to taste
  • Herbs - to taste

Prepare the necessary ingredients.

Thaw the fish. The best way to thaw fish is to transfer it from the freezer to the refrigerator, where it will gradually defrost. If the fish was purchased by weight, transfer it to a suitable container and cover it. A second safe and quick method for thawing fish is to take it out of the freezer and place it in a pot of cold water. If you bought the fish in a plastic bag, do not remove it from the bag. If the fish was purchased by weight, place it in a bag, squeeze out as much air as possible, and put it in cold water. The fish should not come into contact with water or air while thawing.

Clean the pollock from scales, cut off all fins, remove the insides, rinse well, and dry.

Peel the onion, rinse well, chop into small cubes or strips, and place in a baking dish.

Peel and wash the carrot, chop into small cubes or strips, and place in the baking dish.

Peel the potatoes, wash well, cut into medium-sized strips or cubes, and salt to taste.

Spread the sour cream over the fish, add 1 bay leaf, cover with a lid, and bake in the oven at 356°F for about 30 minutes.

Grate the hard cheese on a coarse grater. Remove the potatoes and fish from the oven, and sprinkle the prepared cheese on top of the fish. Bake the dish in the oven for another 5–7 minutes under the lid at 356°F.
