Pork in Mustard Sauce
Ingredients
- Pork Skewers - 6 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 3 tablespoons
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
For the sauce: 1 small onion, 2-3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, 1 tablespoon of butter, 3/4 cup of orange juice, 1 teaspoon of cornstarch, 2-3 tablespoons of meat broth, 1 teaspoon of soy sauce, 1/3 cup of cream, 1 teaspoon of whole grain Dijon mustard.
Step 2
Lightly pound the meat. Mix the flour with ground pepper, coat the steaks in it, and shake off the excess flour. Fry the steaks over medium heat until cooked in an oiled grill pan (about 3 minutes on each side). Season with salt and keep warm.
Step 3
Prepare the sauce. Dissolve the cornstarch in half of the orange juice and set aside. Melt the butter in a pan, add the vegetable oil. Sauté the finely chopped onion over medium heat until translucent and soft, then pour in the remaining orange juice. Add some broth, soy sauce, and mustard. Stir and, while continuously stirring, add the cornstarch dissolved in juice. Mix again, then add the cream. Keep on heat, stirring, until the sauce thickens.
Step 4
You can add the steaks to the pan, warm them up, and serve.
