Pork in Spicy Sauce
Ingredients
- Basil - 1 bunch
- Pork tenderloin - 17.6 oz
- Tomatoes - 3 pieces
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Malt Vinegar - 2 tablespoons
- Honey - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Dried Chamomile - 1 teaspoon
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Water - 3 fl oz
- Mild Chili Spice - to taste
- Vegetable Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Soy Sauce - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut the pork into pieces about 1–1.5 cm thick and lightly pound them.
Step 2
Season the meat with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 3
Heat a skillet and fry the pork in vegetable oil.
Step 4
For the sauce, blanch the tomatoes, peel them, and cut them into large pieces. Remove the seeds from the chili pepper (to taste, can use 1/5 of it).
Step 5
In a blender, combine the tomatoes, chili pepper, basil leaves (dried can be used), 1 tablespoon of honey, 2 tablespoons of wine vinegar, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, thyme, 2 minced garlic cloves, and other spices to taste (Italian or Provençal herbs), along with two pinches of salt. Add 100 ml of water. Blend all ingredients until smooth.
Step 6
Pour the sauce into the skillet (no need for oil), bring to a boil, and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 7
Add the meat to the boiling sauce and let it sit for a couple of minutes. It's ready! The dish can be served with any side of your choice.
