Description
You can also add an additional side dish — sauté shredded cabbage (half of a medium head) in dry white wine.
Ingredients
- Smoked pork knuckle - 2 pieces
- Potato - 8 pieces
- Onion - 1 head
- Dark Ale - 1 qt
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Adjika - 1 tablespoon
- Herbs - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Mustard Greens - 2 spoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash the shanks and clean the skin (do not remove it).
Step 2
Marinate the pork hocks in a large pot with beer, salt, and adjika in advance (I let them sit for a day in a cool place).
Step 3
Add water to the marinade (enough to cover the shanks), along with onion and garlic, and simmer over medium heat for 2.5 hours.
Step 4
Let it cool without removing from the broth, so that they retain their juices during further cooking.
Step 5
Remove the shanks from the marinade and place them on a baking tray, then brush with mustard. (Do not discard the marinade).
Step 6
In the marinade, boil the pre-peeled potatoes until partially cooked, then place them on a baking sheet.
Step 7
Bake in the oven at 392°F, frequently basting with the remaining broth.
Step 8
Serve with herbs and mustard.
