Description

Pork with Apple Flan

Ingredients

  • Pork Skewers - 4 pieces
  • Green Apples - 6 pieces
  • Lemon - ½ piece
  • Grated Ginger Root - 1.8 oz
  • Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
  • 10% cream - 7 fl oz
  • Wheat Flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Honey - 2 teaspoons
  • Butter - 1.8 oz
  • Brown Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste
  • Salt - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Trim some fat from the chops and rub them with salt and pepper. Mix honey with grated ginger. Apply the mixture to the pork.

Step 2

Peel two apples, carefully remove the core without cutting the apple. Slice them into thin rounds.

Step 3

Grease a baking dish with butter, place the chops inside, and top with apple slices. Squeeze the juice from half a lemon. Melt the remaining butter in a saucepan, add sugar and lemon juice. Stir and pour over the pork and apples, reserving 2 tablespoons in the saucepan. Cover the dish with foil and place it in an oven preheated to 170°C (340°F) for 1 hour. Ten minutes before it's done, remove the foil and drizzle the remaining butter over the pork.

Step 4

For the flan, place 4 apples on a baking sheet, pour in ½ cup of water, and bake in the oven for 30 minutes, which can be done simultaneously with the pork on the lower rack. Let cool slightly, remove the core, scoop out the pulp, and add eggs, flour, and cream. Season with salt and pepper, and mix well.

Step 5

Distribute the resulting mixture into greased molds and bake in the oven for 20 minutes. Without removing the flan from the molds, serve alongside the pork with apple rings.
