Description
I made this casserole for the first time after finding a recipe in an app for iPhone. However, it suggested adding wine, which I opted out of.
Ingredients
- Potato - 28.2 oz
- Ground meat - 2 lbs
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese - 10.6 oz
- Spanish onions - 1 head
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Vegetable Oil - 3 spoons
- Butter - 5.3 oz
- Cream 22% - 5.3 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash, peel, and boil the potatoes in salted water.
Step 2
Finely chop the onion and garlic, then sauté them in sunflower oil in a skillet until they release their characteristic onion aroma.
Step 3
Add the minced meat to the skillet, break up any clumps with a spatula, and mix it with the onion and garlic. Cook until fully done, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 4
Mash the potatoes into a puree, then gradually stir in the melted butter, cream, 1 raw egg, and 2/3 of the grated cheese. Mix everything gently until you achieve a smooth, homogenous consistency.
Step 5
Grease a baking dish with oil. Layer half of the mash, then the filling, followed by more mash, and sprinkle the remaining Parmesan on top. Place in an oven preheated to 356°F for half an hour.
