Potato Puff Pastry Knishes

Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 17.6 oz
  • Onion - 1 head
  • Egg Yolk - 1 piece
  • Non-yeast Puff Pastry - 17.6 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Remove the pastry from the freezer and leave it to thaw.

Step 2

Peel the potatoes and boil them for mashed potatoes.

Step 3

Finely chop the onion and sauté it.

Step 4

Once the potatoes are cooked, make them into a puree.

Step 5

Add the sautéed onion to the puree. Mix well. The filling is ready.

Step 6

Roll out the pastry into a long sheet. Place the potato filling on the pastry. Roll the pastry into a log. Using the blunt side of a knife, divide the log into pieces without cutting all the way through, just pressing down. Pinch the edges of the pastry together to form a ball.

Step 7

Place the knishes on a baking sheet. Brush with egg yolk.

Step 8

Bake at 374°F for 35 minutes.
