Ingredients

  • Chicken Egg - 2 pieces
  • Gruyère cheese - 3.5 oz
  • Salt - to taste
  • Milk - 8 fl oz
  • Egg white - 2 pieces
  • Butter - 3.5 oz
  • Potato - 2 lbs

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Peel the potatoes and cut them into large pieces. Place them in a pot, cover with water, and add a teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and cook for 20-30 minutes until the potatoes are soft.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 392°F. Grease a deep baking dish with butter. Drain the water from the potatoes and mash them while still hot, mixing in the butter, hot milk, 80 grams of grated cheese, and the egg yolks. Whip the egg whites separately, then gently fold them into the potato mixture.

Step 3

Transfer the mashed potatoes to the greased dish, pack it down, and sprinkle with the remaining cheese. Bake for 30 minutes until the crust is golden. Serve immediately in the same dish.
