Description

Zrazy is a popular dish in Eastern European countries, especially Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, and Ukraine. Traditionally, zrazy is made with meat and various fillings, such as mushrooms or eggs, as well as potatoes.

Ingredients

  • Ground meat - 20 oz
  • Salad Potatoes - 7 pieces
  • Onion - 1 piece
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • Chicken Egg - 1 piece
  • Wheat Flour - 10 oz
  • Spices - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Boil the potatoes, drain all the water, mash until smooth, add the egg, salt, and pepper. Gradually add the flour: you may need more or less flour, the potato dough should not stick too much to your hands. Set aside to cool.

Step 2

In vegetable oil, sauté the finely chopped onion and garlic until golden. Add the ground meat, season with salt and pepper, and cook until done.

Step 3

Slightly moisten your hands with water or grease them with oil. Form patties: in your palm, shape the potato into an elongated flat cake, place the filling in the center, and seal the edges of the cake. Roll each patty in breadcrumbs on all sides. Fry over medium heat on both sides until golden brown.

Step 4

Serve hot with sour cream.
