Description
A recipe for a hiking trip, a randomly found can of stew, an apocalyptic scenario, or an evening when you don’t want to spend a lot of time on dinner. Onions are sautéed, potatoes are boiled, and the stew is warmed up — and it’s ready. The best part is that all of this happens in one pot and takes just half an hour. Most importantly, everyone will be satisfied.
Ingredients
- Potato - 2 lbs
- Onion - 1 head
- Stewed Meat - 1 can
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Green peppercorns - 6 pieces
- Vegetable Oil - 1 fl oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Chop the onion and sauté it in vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or cauldron until golden brown.
Step 2
Add diced potatoes, pour in a quarter cup of water, and add salt, a bay leaf, and peppercorns. Cover with a lid and simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 3
Add the canned meat, stir, cover with a lid, and simmer for another 15–20 minutes until the potatoes are cooked. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.
