Description
Basmati, the longer the better.
Ingredients
- Clarified Butter - 1.1 oz
- Water - 20 fl oz
- Safflower Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Green Peas - 7.1 oz
- Macadamia Nuts - 0.2 oz
- Ocean salt - ½ teaspoon
- Spices - to taste
- Rice - 7.1 oz
- Orange Bell Peppers - 1.1 oz
- Shelled pumpkin seeds - 0.2 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
It is advisable to rinse the rice (not with tap water, as rice absorbs all foreign odors).
Step 2
Drain in a colander and dry.
Step 3
In a small non-stick pot, heat the oil.
Step 4
Add the rice and stir for 3 minutes over low heat.
Step 5
When the rice is coated with oil, add the water. Basmati cooks for about 15 minutes, brown rice takes 30 to 45 minutes.
Step 6
Let the cooked rice cool.
Step 7
Heat oil in a pan and add the peas and pepper, lightly sauté them, then add the cooled rice. Mix the ingredients.
Step 8
Season the rice with salt and sprinkle with finely chopped coriander.
