Quick Seared Tuna

Ingredients

  • Olive Oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Tuna - 14.1 oz
  • Ocean salt - to taste
  • White Pepper (whole) - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Pat the fish dry with a paper towel to remove any blood or moisture. The fish should be completely dry before cooking.

Step 2

Heat a non-stick skillet and add enough oil to coat the bottom in a thin layer. Wait for the oil to heat up.

Step 3

Sprinkle one side of the fish with salt and pepper. Place the fish seasoned side down in the skillet, then season the other side with salt and pepper. Reduce the heat to medium and leave the skillet for 2 minutes.

Step 4

Flip the fish with a flat spatula and cook for another 2 minutes. Then transfer the fish to a cutting board and let it cool slightly.

Step 5

Slice perpendicular to the grain into pieces no thicker than 5 mm. Serve seasoned with salt, pepper, or drizzled with olive oil to taste.
