- Long-Grain Rice - 1 cup
- Lamb - 14.1 oz
- Onion - 2 heads
- Cilantro - 1 bunch
- Serviceberries - 1.8 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 1 fl oz
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a deep pot, bring 2 liters of water to a boil, add salt, pour in the rinsed rice, and cook over medium heat for 7 minutes.
Step 2
Then drain the water, cover the pot with a lid, reduce the heat to the minimum, and cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 3
After that, remove the pot from the heat and let the rice sit covered for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Peel, wash, and slice the onion into half-rings, then lightly sauté in heated vegetable oil.
Step 5
Rinse the lamb, cut it into small pieces, season with salt and pepper, add to the pan with the onion, and fry until golden brown. Pour in 200 ml of water, add the barberry, and simmer covered until cooked through.
Step 6
Mix the hot porridge with the lamb, onion, and barberry, serve in individual plates, sprinkle with chopped cilantro, and serve.
