Description
Rice with Tofu, Onion, and Wood Mushrooms Dressing
Ingredients
- Rice - 2.8 oz
- Onion - 1 piece
- Tofu - 1.8 oz
- Dried Chinese mushrooms - 1 piece
- Soy Sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Dried Squid - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Herbs - to taste
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Soak the seaweed and black wood mushroom (mu-er) for about 30 minutes.
Step 2
Cook the rice without spices and salt.
Step 3
Cut the onion into large (very large) rings. Don't be afraid — it will be delicious. Sauté it well in oil with a tablespoon of soy sauce (Worcestershire or teriyaki sauce also works well), then add the diced tofu. Fry with the onion until a crust forms, shaking the pan occasionally.
Step 4
Add the well-rinsed and chopped seaweed and mushroom to the onion and tofu. Pour in two tablespoons of sauce. Cook covered for 5–8 minutes, shaking occasionally.
Step 5
Pour in the beaten egg. Stir until cooked through.
Step 6
Serve as a side dish, garnished with herbs.
