Description
Salad with Apple and Cider in Melted Camembert Cheese Sauce
Ingredients
- Apple - 3.9 oz
- Romaine lettuce - 1 piece
- Arugula - 0.9 oz
- Camembert cheese - 8.8 oz
- Sour Cream - 2 tablespoons
- Cider - 1 tablespoon
- Rye Bread - 1.8 oz
- Olive Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 1 clove
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut the bread into small cubes, place in a bowl, add olive oil and minced garlic, and mix thoroughly. Spread the bread on a baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes at 356°F until golden brown. Let cool.
Step 2
Mix the leaves of romaine lettuce and arugula, and place them on plates. Slice the apples without peeling and place them in a separate bowl, drizzle with cider. After that, dry the apples and place them on the lettuce leaves.
Step 3
Cut the chilled cheese in half, peel it, separating the rind from the soft part. Then place it in a small saucepan, add sour cream, and set over low heat. Heat for 3–4 minutes, constantly whisking, until a smooth mixture is obtained. Add cider if the cheese is not aged. An important point is that the cheese should melt but not boil.
Step 4
Evenly drizzle the salad with the dressing and garnish with croutons. Serve immediately.
