Sardines baked with white wine and breadcrumbs

Ingredients

  • Sardines - 3 lbs
  • Olive Oil - 5 tablespoons
  • Dry White Wine - 5 fl oz
  • Lemon - ½ piece
  • Chopped Sage Leaves - 1 tablespoon
  • Breadcrumbs - 3 tablespoons
  • Butter - 1.4 oz
  • Salt - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Pour the oil into a baking dish. Lightly season the fish with salt on both sides and arrange in the dish in a single layer. Drizzle with wine and lemon juice, sprinkle with parsley and breadcrumbs, and top with pieces of butter.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 356°F. Bake, occasionally basting the fish with the oil and juices, for 15 minutes until cooked through (the flesh should easily flake apart). Serve immediately without removing from the dish.
