This pie is easy and quick to prepare, a great option if unexpected guests arrive.
Ingredients
- Canned Mackerel in Oil - 2 cans
- Chicken Egg - 3 pieces
- Wheat Flour - 1 cup
- Kefir - 1 cup
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Activated Baking Soda - ½ teaspoon
- Cheese Spread - 3.5 oz
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
First, prepare the dough: mix 1 cup of flour, 2 eggs, ½ teaspoon of baking soda, which has been quenched with kefir, and 1 cup of kefir. The mixture should be a liquid batter.
Step 2
Prepare the filling: mix 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise with 1 chicken egg and grated cheese.
Step 3
Prepare the stuffing: take any canned fish (I prefer those in oil), open the can and remove the backbone bones from the fish (if the bones are soft, you can leave them), and mash with a fork. Do not pour the liquid from the can into the filling. Essentially, the filling can be anything, just make sure it is not 'wet'; if desired, you can add sautéed onions and some cheese.
Step 4
Pour the batter into a preheated baking tray greased with vegetable oil. Add the filling on top.
Step 5
Pour the prepared filling over the top. Slightly smooth the surface of the pie with a spoon.
Step 6
Bake the pie in a preheated oven for 12-15 minutes. Remove, let it cool slightly, and cut into pieces. Enjoy your meal!
