Description
Savoy Cabbage Casserole
Ingredients
- Carrot - 1 piece
- White Cabbage - 21.2 oz
- Potato - 2 pieces
- Chicken Egg - 3 pieces
- Milk - 5 fl oz
- Cheese Spread - 7.1 oz
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Boil the potatoes in their skins, cool them, and grate them on a coarse grater.
Step 2
Separate 6–7 large leaves from the head of savoy cabbage and boil them in salted water until partially cooked. Cut the leaves in half, removing the tough core.
Step 3
Grate the carrot on a fine grater. You can lightly sauté it.
Step 4
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
Step 5
Mix the eggs, milk, grated potatoes, salt, and spices thoroughly.
Step 6
Layer the mixture in a greased baking dish: cabbage, potato mixture, carrot, and cheese. It’s best to finish with a layer of cabbage topped with cheese.
Step 7
Place in the oven for 20–25 minutes and bake at around 392°F.
