Description
Recipe taken from the book by John Smith 'Armenian Cuisine' (1960).
Ingredients
- Lamb - 5.3 oz
- Onion - 1.2 oz
- Chicken Egg - ¼ piece
- Wheat Flour - 0.2 oz
- Tomatoes - 3.5 oz
- Clarified Butter - 0.7 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Parsley - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Add finely chopped onion, egg yolks to the minced lamb and mix thoroughly.
Step 2
Form the mixture into balls the size of a walnut.
Step 3
Roll each ball into an elongated shape with tapered ends, then coat in flour.
Step 4
In a pot with heated oil, place the lamb balls in a single layer and fry on both sides until partially cooked.
Step 5
After that, add the sautéed thinly sliced onion, halved fresh tomatoes, and pepper to the pot, and place it in the oven for 10–15 minutes.
Step 6
Serve the lamb balls sprinkled with herbs.
