Description

These cabbage rolls are prepared relatively quickly, as there is no need to freeze the cabbage (the head is placed in the freezer for 2–3 days), boil it, and wait for it to drain and cool. This is the simplest method, and importantly — dry, but it should be noted that hot steam can cause burns, so precautions should be taken. The filling can be any type; this recipe uses chicken. Young garlic is perfect for this dish, but spinach can also be used. You can use bell peppers of two colors: this will make the dish festive. If you like a spicy flavor, you can add tomato paste to the broth with the cabbage rolls. Also, when serving, you can sprinkle with freshly chopped herbs.

  • White Cabbage - 1 head
  • Pork Mince - 17.6 oz
  • Orange Bell Peppers - 1 piece
  • Vegetable Oil - 2 fl oz
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Spices - 1 teaspoon
  • Sour Cream - 1 jar

Prepare the ingredients (defrost the mince if necessary). Young garlic with stems is used here; wash it.

Place the cabbage in a deep bowl and carefully cut out the core with a knife.

Make diagonal cuts to remove the cone of the core.

You will have cabbage without the core.

Put the cabbage in a bag in the bowl, then place it in the microwave for 10–30 minutes (it depends on the ripeness of the cabbage and the softness of its leaves). You can check readiness by periodically taking it out and determining the softness of the leaves (be careful: it's hot!).

While the cabbage is cooking, finely chop the bell pepper.

Also finely chop the garlic bulb, stem, and leaves.

Add vegetable oil to the pan and sauté the vegetables with the spices.

Add the mince to the vegetables and mix everything, cooking until half done.

Take out the cabbage, open it, and let it cool slightly.

Turn the head over onto a plate; this makes it easier to detach the leaves.

Take the first leaf and place the prepared filling on it.

Fold in from three sides, starting with the thick part of the leaf, then from the right and left.

Roll it up into a tube.

Roll all the cabbage rolls in this way (until the filling runs out) and place them tightly in a pot in one or two layers, covering with water, almost covering all the cabbage rolls.

Add your favorite spices and simmer under a lid over medium heat for about 20 minutes.
