Description
In Singapore, dumplings are served with soy sauce and vinegar.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 1 cup
- Boiling water - 4 fl oz
- Safflower Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Pork Mince - 17.6 oz
- Peeled Cooked Shrimp - 17.6 oz
- Soy Sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Fish Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Ground Dried Garlic - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Scallions - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Add salt to the flour, pour in the sunflower oil, and gradually add boiling water while kneading the dough. Let the dough cool slightly.
Step 2
Knead the dough, adding flour to the table, until it reaches an elastic state. Let it rest for a bit.
Step 3
Finely chop the shrimp and onion, mix them with the ground pork. Add soy sauce, fish sauce, garlic, salt, and pepper. Let the filling sit for about 10 minutes.
Step 4
Roll out the dough as you would for dumplings, but make it thin. Place the filling with a teaspoon and seal it using your fingers.
Step 5
To prevent the dumplings from sticking, use parchment paper or thinly sliced carrots.
Step 6
Place in a steamer for 40 minutes.
