- Skin-On Chicken Breasts - 21.2 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 1 qt
- Sesame Oil - 3 tablespoons
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Corn Starch - 4 tablespoons
- Garlic - 5 cloves
- Sriracha - 3 tablespoons
- Honey - 3 tablespoons
- Water - 7 fl oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Toasted Sesame - 1 tablespoon
- Scallions - 1.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Slice the chicken breast lengthwise into two parts, then cut into strips. Transfer to a deep bowl.
Step 2
Crack the egg into the chicken, add cornstarch, and mix well.
Step 3
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot to 374°F and fry the chicken in batches. Transfer to a sieve and let excess oil drain.
Step 4
In a large skillet with a thick bottom, heat sesame oil, add minced garlic, and sauté for 1 minute while stirring constantly. Add the spicy paste, then honey, mix, heat for another minute, then pour in hot water. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well.
Step 5
Transfer the chicken to the skillet, and use two spatulas to mix the chicken and sauce so that it is evenly coated.
Step 6
Serve the chicken on plates or a serving dish, sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions. Plain rice or noodles make an excellent side dish.
