Description

Unlike black pepper, green pepper not only differs in color but also in culinary possibilities. Green pepper is rarely ground in a pepper mill. It is often used whole, sometimes even marinated and enjoyed as a standalone dish.

Ingredients

  • Entrecôtes - 4 pieces
  • Olive Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Shallot - 2 heads
  • Red port - 7 fl oz
  • Campbell's Beef Broth - 10 fl oz
  • Cream (40%) - 7 fl oz
  • Green peppercorns - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Sear the ribeye steaks on a grill pan for two minutes on each side. Transfer the meat to a separate plate, wrap it in foil, and keep it in a warm place until ready to serve.

Step 2

In a saucepan, lightly sauté finely chopped shallots in olive oil. Then, pour in the port wine and simmer everything for five minutes over medium heat.

Step 3

Next, you need to add beef broth and simmer for another ten minutes. Remove from heat, stir in a cup of heavy cream, return to low heat, and cook for another five minutes. Then mix in some green pepper, add salt, cook for another thirty seconds, and serve at the table, generously drizzled with the sauce.
