Ingredients
- Squid - 17.6 oz
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- White bread - 2 pieces
- Milk - 4 fl oz
- Onion - ½ piece
- Breadcrumbs - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- White Pepper (whole) - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Remove the quill from the squid, blanch, and clean off the membranes. Pass the cleaned bodies through a meat grinder with a fine mesh or chop them in a food processor. Finely chop the onion and sauté in oil until translucent.
Step 2
Add the egg, onion, and season with salt and ground white pepper to the minced squid.
Step 3
Cut the crusts off the bread slices and soak them in milk. Once the bread softens, squeeze it out and add it to the minced squid mixture, mixing well.
Step 4
With damp hands, form a round patty slightly larger than a walnut.
Step 5
Grease the tray (or another container) of the steamer with vegetable oil. Steam for 15 to 25 minutes. Arrange the cooked patties on plates and serve with soy sauce.
