Description
Stovetop Macaroni and Cheese
Ingredients
- Macaroni - 15.9 oz
- Coarse Salt - to taste
- Condensed Milk - 12.7 oz
- Large eggs - 2 pieces
- Barbecue sauce - 1 teaspoon
- English Dry Mustard - 1 teaspoon
- Cheshire Cheese - 15.9 oz
- Cheese Spread - 8.5 oz
- Coarse Cornmeal - 1 tablespoon
- Butter - 8 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place the macaroni in a deep skillet and cover with salted water. The water level should be 5 cm above the macaroni. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally to prevent the macaroni from sticking.
Step 2
Cover with a lid, remove from heat, and let sit until almost al dente (about 8 minutes).
Step 3
Meanwhile, mix the powdered milk, eggs, hot sauce, and mustard until smooth. Place the cheese and cornmeal in a large bowl and mix well.
Step 4
When the macaroni is ready, drain it in a colander, then return it to the skillet. Set the skillet over low heat, add the butter, and stir the macaroni until the butter melts.
Step 5
Add the milk mixture and cheese mixture, and continue to heat, stirring, until the cheese melts and the mixture is hot and creamy.
Step 6
Season with salt, pepper, and hot sauce to taste. Serve immediately.
