Description

Instead of ground beef, you can use a mixture of ground beef and ground pork in equal proportions (the so-called 'Homemade').

Ingredients

  • Orange Bell Peppers - 4 pieces
  • Lean Beef - 2 lbs
  • 20% Sour Cream - 15.9 oz
  • Salt - to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Season the ground meat with salt and pepper, place it in a wide dish, and put it in a preheated oven for 15–20 minutes without covering. Then, remove the dish and use a fork to break apart any clumps (to ensure the meat cooks evenly). Note that the meat broth should not evaporate completely, otherwise the meat will dry out.

Step 2

Cut the bell peppers into cubes, mix them with the ground meat, and return to the oven for another 10–15 minutes. During this time, the peppers should become softer but still crunchy.

Step 3

Add the sour cream, mix well, and put it back in the oven for another 5 minutes.

Step 4

Serve immediately (otherwise the bell peppers will become soggy), either as a standalone dish or with rice or potatoes as a side.
