Stuffed Grape Leaves with Rice and Onions
Ingredients
- Canned Grape Leaves - to taste
- Onion - 12.7 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 1 cup
- Chopped Green Onions - 2.5 oz
- Rice - ½ cup
- Lemon - ½ piece
- Fresh Mint - 1 bunch
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pour boiling water over the cleaned and rinsed grape leaves and cool them.
Step 2
Mix all the above ingredients, except for the lemons, and wrap the resulting filling in the grape leaves, shaping them into elongated forms.
Step 3
Place several leaves at the bottom of a pot and arrange the stuffed grape leaves in rows on top. Cover them with a heavy plate upside down to press them down so they do not open while cooking.
Step 4
Then drizzle with lemon juice and fill with water to the top. Cook on low heat until all the water has evaporated.
Step 5
Let them cool and serve on plates.
