Description
Stuffed peppers are a classic dish. They are found in Bulgarian, Moldovan, Ukrainian, Georgian, and Azerbaijani cuisines. And now, you can't go without this recipe in Russian cooking either. In our version, we make them with ground meat and rice, but you can experiment with any fillings.
Ingredients
- Veal Mince - ½ kg
- Sweet Pepper - 8 pieces
- Rice - ½ glasses
- Carrot - 7.1 oz
- Onion - 3 heads
- Sour Cream - 3.5 oz
- Passata Tomato Sauce - 3 spoons
- Salt - to taste
- Safflower Oil - 2 spoons
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Finely chop the onion and grate the carrot.
Step 2
Sauté half of the onion and carrot in a skillet.
Step 3
Cook the rice until it is partially done.
Step 4
Mix with the minced meat and combine with the sautéed carrots and onions. Season everything with salt and pepper.
Step 5
Cut off the top of the pepper and remove the seeds.
Step 6
Stuff the pepper with the filling.
Step 7
Mix the sour cream with the tomato paste. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 8
Spread the mixture evenly on the bottom of the pot, add the remaining half of the grated carrots and onions, and stir everything together.
Step 9
Place the peppers on top and pour in water until it reaches halfway up the peppers.
Step 10
Simmer covered over medium heat for 40 minutes. Serve.
