Description
Stuffed Squid with Veal and Tomato Sauce
Ingredients
- Veal Mince - 14.1 oz
- Squid - 5 pieces
- Tomatoes - 5 pieces
- Onion - 2 heads
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Passata Tomato Sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Olive Oil - 4 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Herbs - to taste
- Wheat Flour - 1 tablespoon
- Carrot - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Finely chop the onion and sauté it in olive oil until lightly golden. Add the mince and cook for 10 minutes over low heat.
Step 2
Pour boiling water over the tomatoes and peel them, then finely chop. Add half of the tomatoes to the mince, along with the finely chopped herbs, and simmer for a couple of minutes.
Step 3
Wash the squid and remove the membrane. Stuff the squid with the mince and vegetable mixture, wrap each squid in foil, brushing them with olive oil beforehand. Bake for about 20 minutes at 392°F.
Step 4
Make the sauce from the remaining tomatoes: slightly crush them, place them in a pan, add the grated carrot, a tablespoon of flour, tomato paste, sugar, salt, and pepper. Sauté for 3 minutes.
Step 5
Remove the squid from the foil, pour the prepared sauce over them, and optionally sprinkle with herbs.
