Swedish Salad with Herring and Beetroot
Ingredients
- Pickles - 2 pieces
- Apple - 3 pieces
- Cornichons - 7.1 oz
- Sour Cream - 7.1 oz
- Beetroot - 3 pieces
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Dijon Mustard - 2 tablespoons
- Shallot - 2 pieces
- Bay leaf - 2 pieces
- Lingonberry - 1.8 oz
- Ground clove - to taste
- Chicken fillet - 7.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Boil/bake the beetroot for 45–60 minutes. Boil/bake the chicken/pork/beef and cut into small pieces. Peel the onion and beetroot.
Step 2
Blend the sour cream with the lingonberry in a bowl and leave in the refrigerator.
Step 3
Chop the apple, beetroot, cornichons, shallot, herring, and meat, mix everything with the Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, add the bay leaf and allspice. Add the sour cream with lingonberry, cover, and leave in the refrigerator overnight.
Step 4
Serve in a salad bowl or on plates, garnish with parsley, and serve.
