Description
You can use white vinegar instead of rice wine. This sauce pairs perfectly with shrimp dishes.
Ingredients
- Mild Chili Spice - 4 pieces
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Water - 8 fl oz
- Rice Sweet Wine - 2 fl oz
- Sugar - 3.5 oz
- Salt - 0.3 oz
- Corn Starch - 0.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a food processor or blender, blend the chili peppers and garlic until smooth.
Step 2
In a saucepan, bring 180 ml of water, rice wine (or vinegar), sugar, salt, and the chili puree to a boil. Cook for about 3 minutes.
Step 3
In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 30 ml of water, pour the mixture into the sauce, and cook for about 1-2 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
Step 4
Cool down.
