Description
Recipe taken from a cookbook by John Smith 'Armenian Cuisine' (1960).
Ingredients
- Lamb - 5.3 oz
- Onion - 0.5 oz
- Potato - 7.1 oz
- Chicken Egg - ¼ piece
- Clarified Butter - 0.5 oz
- Cornelian Cherry - 0.4 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Parsley - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut the lamb meat into pieces and pass it together with the onion through a meat grinder twice.
Step 2
Add previously soaked pitted dried cornelian cherries, egg, salt, pepper, and mix well.
Step 3
Form balls from the prepared filling the size of a walnut and fry them in oil.
Step 4
Serve the Syunik Koloak with boiled potatoes drizzled with butter, garnished with parsley sprigs.
