Tacos with tempeh and chili-lime sauce

Ingredients

  • Raw Cashews - 2.3 oz
  • Lime Juice - 0.3 cups
  • Chili Pepper - 1½ teaspoons
  • Ground Dried Garlic - ½ teaspoon
  • Coconut Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Onion - 1 head
  • Tempeh - 8.1 oz
  • Ground chili pepper - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Cumin - ½ teaspoon
  • Tortillas - 4 pieces
  • Red Cabbage - 9.2 oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

To prepare the sauce, blend all ingredients and ¼ cup of water until smooth, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 2

To make the tacos, heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat until shimmering.

Step 3

Add the onion and sauté for 3-4 minutes. Add the tempeh and season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4

Cook for another 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until golden brown.

Step 5

Remove from heat and season with chili and cumin.

Step 6

Serve the prepared mixture on tortillas, garnished with cabbage, salsa, and sauce.
