Description

Tartiflette is a hearty dish from the French Alps made with potatoes, reblochon cheese, lardons, and onions. This comforting casserole is perfect for a cozy winter dinner and is often enjoyed at ski resorts or rustic lodges. Serve it alongside a simple green salad and a glass of white wine for a complete meal.

Ingredients

  • Cheese Spread - 7.1 oz
  • Onion - 1 piece
  • Olive Oil - 2 spoons
  • Salt - ½ spoons
  • Cream 22% - 7 fl oz
  • Ground Black Pepper - ½ spoons
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • Ground Nutmeg - 1 tablespoon
  • Bacon - 10.6 oz
  • Potato - 5 pieces

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Finely chop the bacon, onion, and garlic, then sauté them.

Step 2

Slice the potatoes into 2–3 mm thick pieces and boil them in salted water for about two minutes. Remove and sprinkle with nutmeg and pepper.

Step 3

Now assemble in a dish with high sides. Layers: potatoes, bacon, cheese (more cheese), potatoes, bacon, cheese.

Step 4

Pour warm cream over it and place it in the oven. You can check for doneness with a knife — if the potatoes are soft, it's ready to be taken out.
