Ingredients
- Beef - 4 lbs
- Salad Potatoes - 3 lbs
- Spanish onions - 4 pieces
- Pickles - 4 pieces
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Tomatoes - 2 pieces
- Vegetable Oil - 3 fl oz
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Spices - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients. Cut the potatoes, pickles, onions, and carrots into cubes. Slice the garlic thinly. To save on deep bowls, you can combine the onions with the carrots, as they will be added at the same time. Keep the other ingredients separate, as they will be used at different stages of cooking the stew.
Step 2
Sauté the meat in vegetable oil until it loses its red color and releases juice. Then, add the diced pickles to the pot, mix well, add about 50-70 g of butter, and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Step 3
Next, add the chopped onions and carrots to the pot, mix thoroughly, and continue to simmer for another 15-20 minutes.
Step 4
Add the tomatoes to the pot, mix again, and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
Step 5
After that, add the chopped potatoes and minced garlic, season with salt and pepper, and add spices (just don’t overdo it).
Step 6
If necessary, periodically add boiling water from a kettle so that the liquid barely covers the dish. Simmer until the potatoes are cooked, and after all this process, you should have a delicious Tatar beef stew ready to eat!
