- Veal Tenderloin - 8.5 oz
- Scallions - 0.4 oz
- Mild Chili Spice - 0 oz
- Basil - 0.5 oz
- Fish Oil - 1 fl oz
- Oyster Mushrooms - 0 fl oz
- Soy Sauce - 0 fl oz
- Brown Sugar - 0.2 oz
- Chicken Broth - 3 fl oz
- Corn Starch - 0.4 oz
- Jasmine Rice - 5.6 oz
- Olive Oil - 0 fl oz
- Lemongrass - 0.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Rinse the rice with cold water in a 1:1.5 ratio, bring to a boil, cover, and cook on medium heat until all the water evaporates, about 6–7 minutes.
Step 2
Crush and roughly chop the lemongrass; slice the beef thinly and marinate with lemongrass, soy sauce, and half of the cornstarch, mixing well.
Step 3
Peel, crush, and finely chop the garlic, then mash it into a paste; slice and finely chop 2 thin slices of chili pepper, mix with the garlic; add fish sauce, juice of 1/4 lime, and sugar to the garlic paste.
Step 4
Roughly chop the green onion; dissolve the remaining cornstarch in the chicken broth.
Step 5
Remove the lemongrass and stir-fry the beef in olive oil over high heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly, then add the sauce and cornstarch, along with the oyster sauce, and bring to a boil.
Step 6
Add the onion and basil, mix, and remove from heat.
Step 7
Serve the beef with vegetables over rice, garnished with finely chopped cilantro.
