Description

If the cognac hasn't ignited, sprinkle a bit more and carefully tilt the pan towards the flame so that the burner’s flame licks the sauce. If you have an electric stove, light the cognac with a toothpick while tilting the pan. Please exercise caution and keep the pan away from your face. Mashed potatoes or rice make a perfect side dish. In fact, the sauce is quite versatile. If you substitute turkey with beef, it becomes 'Steak Diana'; you can also swap in chicken breast for 'Chicken Diana'. According to Wikipedia, 'Diana' sauce is named not after a princess but after the Roman goddess of hunting.

Ingredients

  • Turkey - 10.6 oz
  • Onion - 1 head
  • Oyster Mushrooms - 10.6 oz
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • 33% Cream - 7 fl oz
  • Worcestershire Sauce - ½ spoons
  • Cognac - 1 fl oz
  • Salt - to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste
  • Mustard Greens - 1 tablespoon

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Slice the turkey breasts crosswise into one-centimeter thick steaks, then season with salt and pepper.

Step 2

Heat the olive oil, place the steaks in the pan, sear them over high heat for one minute on one side, then one minute on the other side, and finally, cook for another minute on low heat starting with the first side.

Step 3

Set the steaks aside.

Step 4

Slice the onion into thin strips and sauté in the same skillet where the turkey was cooked, adding some oil, until softened, about five minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Step 5

Chop the oyster mushrooms into slices and add them to the skillet. Mince the garlic and add it as well. Continue to sauté, stirring, for another five minutes.

Step 6

Add a teaspoon of mustard, splash in some Worcestershire sauce, mix well, then splash in some cognac and ignite.

Step 7

Once the cognac has evaporated, pour in the cream and return the steaks to the pan. Reduce the heat and let them cook together for 3 to 5 minutes.
